Join me at the 20th annual Herb & Food Fair at Bastyr University. I will be giving a beekeeping presentation, and there will be others throughout the day along with cooking demos, garden tours, live music, a plant sale, and kids activities.
Want to do some Black Friday shopping, but don't want to get trampled at the mall? Maybe you are looking for a fun place to take the kids to get into the holiday spirit? Perhaps you just want to have a fun ladies night out, do a little browsing, and have a cocktail. If any of these sound like you, then this is your event!
Poppy Seed Productions presents Olde St. Nick's Christmas Market at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe. This 2 day event begins at 10 am on Friday, November 24th with a Black Friday shopping extravaganza! Open to all ages, with FREE admission. The all ages event closes at 4pm, when we will be switching over to Adults Only VIP shopping! (Tickets for the VIP event must be purchased in advance, available here.) Begins at 6pm and stays open until 10pm. Admission is $10, which includes a free drink at the Hot Cocoa & Cider Bar, Live Music, Giveaways, Free Spa Services & MORE! Then on Small Business Saturday, come take the kids to see Santa and his live reindeer. Sip some hot cocoa while you get a jump on your holiday shopping, while supporting local small businesses (like mine!).

Saturday, November 25, 10:00am - 4:00pm all ages

A fun event for staff, students, and the general public. Held in the hallway between the Bookstore and the Cafeteria at Bastyr University in Kenmore. Approximately 1 dozen vendors. I will be bringing my Fall and Holiday soaps, lotions, sugar scrubs and more!
As many of you know, my friend Lindsey Lueck (previously Lindsey Paul) is in need of a double lung transplant. She has been battling a lung disease called bronchiectasis for the past 10 years, and has at this point exhausted all other treatment options. Lindsey lives in Spokane, WA with her husband and 3 young children, but the transplant must take place in Seattle. When she gets the call that it is time, she needs to get from Spokane to Seattle immediately, requiring a Life Flight. This helicopter ride will cost as much as $12,000 and is not covered by insurance. After the transplant, Lindsey will need to stay in a housing complex for transplant patients for at least 3 months. She will also need anti-rejection medications. None of these things are paid for by insurance. We want Lindsey to spend her time and effort getting well and spending precious time with her family. We don't want her to be worrying about the enormous expenses associated with the transplant. And that is why we are holding a fundraiser!
How can you help? We need donations! We are hosting a Silent Auction on November 4, 2017. You can donate any item -- large or small, new or used, goods or services -- anything! Those donated items will be auctioned off with every penny of the proceeds going directly to Lindsey's medical fund. If you would like to attend the Silent Auction or place a bid, please contact me for further information. You can also donate to Lindsey's fund directly via her Go Fund Me page.
We are also holding a Raffle. The prize pack, valued at $300, includes:
- Starbucks Verismo Brewer
- Starbucks Verismo Milk Frother
- Starbucks Verismo Coffee Pods
- Three Starbucks Mugs
Tickets are available to purchase through me beginning October 15. Anyone can purchase raffle tickets, and you do not need to be present to win, so please spread the word! The winner, if not present, will be contacted to arrange for pickup/deliery. If the winner is out of the area, we will ship the prize to them at our expense.
The list of Auction items is growing! Keep it coming folks, and THANK YOU!!
Our generous donors include:
My first event of the holiday season! Featuring local musicians, jewelry, baked goods, veggies, and more. I will be there with new gift sets, including handmade scented body lotion, shower gel, and perfume spritz. I will also be debuting my whipped sugar scrubs, whipped soap, body butters, and more! A very low-key community event, suitable for all ages. Free admission.
We will be at a new location for the sale this year!
This is our 5th year, and you won't be disappointed! Our peppers are the biggest, most robust plants that we have ever grown. They are so big, in fact, that they took over the greenhouses and made getting our tomatoes started difficult. So this year I have worked with a couple of other gardeners to make sure that we have a good selection and a large quantity of tomato plants. Varieties will include a selection of heirlooms, cherry tomatoes, romas, and beefsteaks. Peppers will include the hottest of the hot! See our plant list under the More tab for a complete list of varieties that we expect to have this season. In addition to tomatoes and peppers, we will also have a number of herbs, pollinator-friendly flowering plants, and other vegetable starts. In all, I expect to have about 600 plants!
I will be happy to talk to visitors about raising bees of all kinds, including honey bees and gentle mason & leafcutter bees. Houses, nesting materials, and complete kits will be available at the sale.
The sale is taking a place at a new location. Some of my children are students at Redemption School in Lynnwood, and they are having a multi-family garage sale on the same date. The space is huge, with plenty of parking, so it just made sense to move my plant sale there for this year.
Please spread the word, these plants need good homes!

The Oddmall shows are always full of incredibly creative local artists, unlike any other event out there! Come out and pick up some recycled glass yard art in time for spring, or some handmade, organic chocolates for your sweetie. And of course, I'll be there as well. I've got some special goodies made just in time for Valentine's day, including gifts for men and kids. Stop in and say hi! At this event they will be handing out valentines at the door, used to vote for your favorite booth. The booth with the most valentines at the end of the day wins a prize pack. So come show your favorite artist a little LOVE, and give them your VOTE!
Are you tired of seeing the same boring "Christmas crap" gifts everywhere you go? Well, not anymore! Come join me, and over 170 other vendors, at Oddmall: Emporium of the Weird's annual Holiday Show held at Everett Community College. This is a juried show, with vendors chosen based on their ability to create products that are handmade, unique, quirky, cool, geeky, and fabulous. I will be there with my holiday line of soaps, shampoo bars, bath bombs, beard oils, shaving cream soaps, and some fun themed gift baskets. See you there!
I will be participating in the Mukilteo School District's 23rd Annual Craft Fair, one of the largest craft fairs in the Mukilteo/Everett area. The fair is sponsored by the school district social committee and will be held from 9am until 4pm on Saturday, November 5 at Mariner High School. Visitors can participate in a raffle. Prizes are donated by vendors. Proceeds from vendor fees and the raffle provide educational scholarships for MSD graduating seniors.
Fourth Annual Garden Sale
Organically grown plants for your home garden and landscape. A great selection of hot chile pepper plants from around the world, all grown from seed in our family garden. Gallon-sized tomatoes including cherry, beefsteak, roma, and heirloom varieties. Plus lots of herbs, berries, and perennials! A list of plants that we expect to have available can be found here.
We will also have all of our soaps on display. Come see (and smell!) and save on shipping costs.
Native bee products will also be available! Thanks to our affiliate, Crown Bees, we will have a selection of houses, nesting materials, and everything else you need to raise non-stinging native bees in your own garden. Increase your yields, and help save these amazing pollinators at the same time! Featured bees will be the Spring Mason Bee and the Summer Leafcutter Bee.
From our backyard beehives, we will have honey for sale - if it isn't sold out before then!
